Tempest

This is how the Tempest arrived…cosmetically in decent shape. The game boards worked and the monitor worked too, but it was flakey…there was a cold solder joint somewhere and the it seemed to have a pretty nasty "wave" to it. I knew I was going to need to rebuild the monitor (Wells Gardner WG6100 vector). After pulling the monitor and installing a Bob Roberts get-well kit and one of Mark Spaeth's LV6100 low voltage boards, I managed to screw something up because I was blowing fuses left and right. After trying and trying and trying, and failing at every turn, I sent the HV and deflection boards to Modesitt who fixed `em up nice. THANKS MOD! I also installed new bushings for the spinner…they made a HUGE difference…no more "Brrrr". I then replaced the marquee which had (of course) the typical cracking along the bottom (why did Atari do the whole exterior marquee overlay thing?). The CPO was pretty beat up too so that got replaced.
