About This Site & It’s Author

pixheadMy nickname,  or handle,  or whatever people want to call it now is FrizzleFried… my real first name being Jon… and I am an arcade game addict.  I grew up with arcade games,  they were everywhere.  At the liquor stores.  At the gas stations.  At the local grocery store.  I remember Denny's restaurant had a mini Ms. Pac Man.  Yum-Yum Donuts had a Pac Man cocktail.  Hell,  the Ace Hardware had multiple videogames and a pinball machine or two.  I loved them.  I played them ALL the time.  I longed for authentic arcade gameplay,  but had to live with an Atari 2600… then ColecoVision… then a Commodore 64,  and eventually PC gaming.

My addition was re-kindled in 2006 when I discovered M.A.M.E and decided to build a M.A.M.E cabinet and has grown to the point where I have own or owned nearly (or likely in excess of) 100 arcade machines.  I currently own a little over a dozen that occupy my 3-car garage.

This site is the latest (and final?) evolution of a personal archive of sorts pertaining to collecting and restoring classic arcade games.  The first iteration being the Asshat Arcade area of the www.arcadecrusade.com gallery.  After some time I wanted "more" so I moved over to Facebook.  I soon realized that Facebook was severely limited… especially artistically and decided to give Word Press a try.  This site is the result.

The plan is to document current,  past,  and future acquisitions and restorations as well as someplace to blog my thoughts, rants and raves about the arcade collecting hobby.  Thus far I've managed to blog about my current machines and I plan to blog as much about my past machines as memory allows.
