An Exercise In Frustration

An Exercise In Frustration

An Exercise In Frustration

I have been trying like HELL to get my multi-shooter PCB's all to play nicely with each other and I have failed miserably thus far and it's getting to me.  I've probably spent a good 20 hours trying every which way to get all 6 game (now 5,  more on that later) to work right ..

ARpiCADE – Arcade Game Emulation Made Easy

ARpiCADE – Arcade Game Emulation Made Easy

ARpiCADE – Arcade Game Emulation Made Easy

Are you more of an arcade enthusiast and less of a "computer guy"? Have you wanted to add a M.A.M.E. cabinet to your collection but dread the thought of putting together a personal computer, getting all the necessary software installed and configured to work properly? Is "tinkering with a PC" not something that you relish ..

Attract Mode Layout – Sphere

Attract Mode Layout – Sphere

Attract Mode Layout – Sphere

SPHERE: A pretty cool looking low resolution horizontal layout.  It’s a spiritual sibling to the “Vertical Sphere” layout I made for vertically oriented monitors.  I actually had this one finished before I finished the vertical version but I’d not put any finishing touches on it.  I sort of dig the “broken glass” effect in the gameslist ..

Attract-Mode Layout – Diamondplate IV

Attract-Mode Layout – Diamondplate IV

Attract-Mode Layout – Diamondplate IV

Diamondplate was the first layout I did on my own last year.  Diamondplate 2 brought a few more features to the mix and this version,  Diamondplate III again brings more features to the layout.  If you’re a fan of the last two versions of Diamondplate,  you will likely be quite happy with Diamondplate III.  If you’re not familiar with this layout,  I encourage you to give it a try.  It was originally created to use in my Capcom Anthology arcade machine and has a decidedly Capcom-esque theme,  though it can be used for just about any system considering how many skins are included.  This is a horizontal oriented theme.

Attract-Mode Layout – DisplayView

Attract-Mode Layout – DisplayView

Attract-Mode Layout – DisplayView

DISPLAYVIEW is a layout made specifically for Attract-Mode’s “Display Menu”.  There may be some of you who are familiar with Attract-Mode,  maybe even some who have been using it for a long time even,   who may be wondering what, exactly,  I am talking about.  I know that I,  personally,  used attract-mode with my ARpiCADE arcade ..

Attract-Mode Layout – Game Monitor

Attract-Mode Layout – Game Monitor

Attract-Mode Layout – Game Monitor

GAME MONITOR: If large unimpeded video snaps are your thing,  this is your theme!  It features a large preview section and scrolling games list to the right.  All modules necessary to run this game have been included and are implemented in the layout so it should be plug n’ play. This layout was designed to ..

Attract-Mode Layout – Irem v1.1

Attract-Mode Layout – Irem v1.1

Attract-Mode Layout – Irem v1.1

IREM v1.1: Another in the “arcade manufacturer” themed series… with this Irem layout you can select between the standard text,  smooth scrolling text,  or smooth scrolling logo games list.  You can choose game list backgrounds, adjust the speed of the scroll,  etc.  The difference between v1.1  and the original theme I’ve already released is that ..

Attract-Mode Layout – Neo Geo v1.2

Attract-Mode Layout – Neo Geo v1.2

Attract-Mode Layout – Neo Geo v1.2

NEO-GEO v1.2: This is a straight forward NEO-GEO layout with few options.  You can choose a static or animated mini-marquee.  You can choose to use a text games list or the games logos, with or without a “shadow” effect… and there are two different backgrounds to choose from.  This layout should be plug n’ play ..

Attract-Mode Layout – Neo Shuffle

Attract-Mode Layout – Neo Shuffle

Attract-Mode Layout – Neo Shuffle

NEO SHUFFLE: This is essentially three Neo-Geo layouts in one as you can select a layout which style “skin” you prefer with each with differing sizes of preview and mini-marquee elements.  You can select scroll speed as well as a few “background colors” for the behind the mini-marquee “shuffle” window.  As are all my layouts,  this ..

Attract-Mode Layout – SDAMax III

Attract-Mode Layout – SDAMax III

Attract-Mode Layout – SDAMax III

SDAMax II is an excellent front-end layout to use for both vertical and horizontal oriented arcade machines. The idea for SDAMax came when I decided to implement a “full screen” option for the SDArcade layout … however, with some of the additions I’d made to the SDArcade layout, I decided the best plan of action was to create a “fork” of sorts and flesh the idea out as it’s own separate layout. This is the result. The layout works great in both horizontal and vertical modes (changeable via the settings menu).  I invite you to give SDAMax II a try!

Attract-Mode Layout – SDAMax v1.1

Attract-Mode Layout – SDAMax v1.1

The idea for SDAMax came when I decided to implement a “full screen” option for the latest update to the SDArcade layout … however, with some of the additions I’ve made (and will be making) to the SDArcade layout, I decided to flesh the idea out as it’s own separate layout. This is the ..

Attract-Mode Layout – SDArcade v2.2

Attract-Mode Layout – SDArcade v2.2

Attract-Mode Layout – SDArcade v2.2

SDARCADE v2.2: The original SDARCADE theme is one of the first I used with my arcade cabinet and one I really like.  It was originally created by Jedione over at the attract-mode forums who was inspired by the ArcadeSD’s front end, but it didn’t work with the Pi.  Dee2er modified the theme to work with the ..

Attract-Mode Layout – SDArcade V3.00

Attract-Mode Layout – SDArcade V3.00

Attract-Mode Layout – SDArcade V3.00

SDArcade is the PERFECT Attract-Mode front end theme for lower resolution arcade monitor setups. Originally made by JediOne for the PC version of Attract-Mode in the vein of the ArcadeSD arcade multigame system, Dee2er converted it for use with the Pi. It’s been through a number of changes since then. Version 3 brings to the table ..
